JetPrivilege serves as Jet Airways' frequent flyer program, enabling members to earn and redeem miles during flights. Recognizing the necessity for a dashboard facilitating members' visualization of their miles earnings, costs, and redemption activities, I developed a comprehensive set of dashboards. These dashboards empower users with intuitive interaction capabilities, allowing them to effortlessly monitor and assess their account status.

Mileage Account Dashboard

Challenge

The challenge entailed designing a dashboard that enables users to grasp their account status at a glance. Additionally, we needed to accommodate two distinct types of data input—earnings and redemptions—on the same page, eliminating the need for navigating to subsequent pages. Simultaneously, our aim was to incorporate charts that are simple and easily comprehensible for users lacking prior experience in data analysis. Personally, my goal for this project was to ensure that the charts remain accessible to users of all levels.

MY ROLE

As a product strategist at JetPrivelge within the Digital team, I collaborated with stakeholders across UX research and digital marketing departments to analyze website traffic, pinpoint user journey challenges, and propose streamlined solutions while prioritizing user requirements. An area of focus was addressing the challenge where members encountered difficulties in accessing accurate account information. My responsibility involved conceptualizing and crafting a member dashboard that incorporated all identified data points discovered during the research phase.

TIMELINE

2 Months

Project Goal

The main goal was to simplify the experience by consolidating all parts of the report into one scrollable page and eliminating redundant information so all necessary data is available on a high level while still allowing a deep dive.

Provide more contextual information to educate users on how their points are generated, and how to go on to the next level and how much points they need in a term.

Success Parameters

  1. Easy to read/understand / navigate

  2. Ability to find information – Sections organized/prioritized intuitively

  3. Intuitive placement of promo features

  4. Integrated tips/insights

  5. Provides a clear next step

  6. Informs of their current point standing

Visualization Techniques Used

Pie Charts: One of our data points was to show the proportion of miles earned vs redeemed. Since we were dealing with proportion or percentage of each category, pie char was used.

Bar Charts: Bar chart was used to compare the frequency, count, or distribution of miles earned and redeemed data within a time frame.

Interactions: Employing filters and tooltips enhances clarity and facilitates the segmentation of data for deeper analysis. Filters enabled members to refine the displayed data based on specific criteria like last 12 months data, last 6 months data or early data. Tooltips provided members with additional context when interacting with data points in the visualization.

Design & aesthetics

Incorporated design and aesthetics into data visualizations was crucial for enhancing the effectiveness and engaging viewers. By choosing visually appealing colors, fonts, and layouts, you can improve comprehension, and maintain brand consistency. Clear design elements also ensure accessibility and legibility, while thoughtful visual hierarchy guides viewers' attention to key insights like total miles earned, flight activity, miles redeemed etc. Considered accessibility needs when designing visualizations to create inclusive and impactful presentations of memeber data.
